This year's Homecoming festivities may have come and gone, but we wanted to relive the great memories created during "The Greatest Show on Turf" in this post.
As the week began, many brothers went to the Homecoming Village on Monday night, supported their friends and fellow Cardinals at the Talent Search competition Tuesday night, and dined at the Homecoming Dinner on Wednesday night. All this led up to the most anticipated event of the week: Air Jam. We were paired with the amazing ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. The team had been working tirelessly to get their routine perfected. Come showtime, the team knew they were ready to compete.
In the end, the team ended up taking second place in the Greek Division, which kept our streak of placing either first or second alive. We're very proud of our team and all the hard work that they put into this event.
At this event, we also found out that our three brothers that made the top ten for Homecoming Court all made it onto the court! Brothers Evan Ziebell, Max Browning, and Jack Hesser all represented Iota-Alpha on the 2015 Homecoming Court, with Jack being named Homecoming King! We were very proud of these three!
The next day, our Lambda Chi team was ready to face the tough competition in the Greek Division for the annual Bed Races event. Our team last year took first place, so they knew they had high expectations. In the end, the team dominated and took first place in the Greek Division for the second year in a row!
After a week of enjoying all of the great homecoming events, it was time for the weekend. Saturday was full of great events, which started with our breakfast event that we hosted for alumni brothers that came back to Muncie. After that was the homecoming parade, where our brothers on Homecoming Court, along with Brother Jonah Katz, our brother who was on the Homecoming Steering Committee, all rode in floats.
Once the parade ended, we made our way to the tailgate lots, where we had one of our biggest tailgates ever in terms of both size and turnout. We had an awesome time socializing with many alumni brothers of all ages. Once tailgate ended, we made our way inside to cheer on our Ball State Cardinals, who unfortunately lost a close one to Toledo. Even though the weather wasn't the greatest, we all had a great time on Homecoming Saturday!
Overall, we think that Homecoming 2015 was a huge success, and taking second place in the Homecoming Pride Points Competition reaffirmed that! Thanks to all of our alumni brothers that came back into town for the homecoming festivities. It was great seeing faces from the not-so-recent past and meeting other alumni that made their impact to Iota-Alpha as undergraduate brothers over the years. We hope to see you all back on campus soon!
